Badger Race Photo by www.gotomn.comThank you to all the Sponsors, Family, Fans and Crew for their support in this awesome 2008 season. The season ended on September 27th at Cedar Lake Speedway at the Badger State Nationals which was a good race for the Kammerud Racing Team finishing second in the heat race and battling up front all race long.  When the 25 lapper was all said and done we finished the night in the 4th. The Kammerud Racing Team hasn’t made any plans for the 2009 season yet, but will keep everyone posted as decisions are made. Thanks again for your support!

NASCAR street stocks rolled trackside for their feature race.  Jeff Heintz grabbed the early lead from his outside front row starting spot.  Following a caution with one lap in, Heintz continued to show the way.  Soon Shawn Kammerud and Devin Neske were battling with Heintz for the lead. On lap 3, Kammerud moved to the outside while Neske went inside in a three-wide battle.  Kammerud narrowly led at the finish line.  With Kammerud the new leader, Heintz and Neske battled for the runnerup spot for a lap before the final caution waved for a spin in turn 4.  Kammerud opened up a small lead on the restart while Heintz and Neske continued to vie for the second spot.  On lap 7, rookie Jared Gross joined the battle and soon moved past Heintz and Neske.  Gross began reeling in Kammerud, but the feature race was only 10 laps tonight and Gross did not have enough laps to close the gap to the point where he could contend for the lead.  Shawn Kammerud recorded his third win of the season at CLS followed by Gross, Heintz, Neske and Chanda Fjorden-Nord in the top five.

zzcls-feature-night-6-21-08-334.jpg The Kammerud Racing Team finds Victory Lane for the second time at CLS. The night started off with the 99k starting on the pole for the first feature of the night. The 67E worked his way by then so did the 57 of Jeff Heniz, but Jeff’s lucky penny ran out of luck when he looped the car. We finished the first feature in the second spot.

For the second feature of the night the 99K started on the outside pole and jumped out the the early lead and didn’t look back.

On Saturday June 7th the team had a great night out. We went wheel to wheel with the 21x of Chris Peterson for the win, but just came up short and finished the night second.

Then on Thursday  June 12th we were back on the track and racing for wins. We won the heat race and in the feature we worked our way up to the 2nd spot and tried to track down the 57 of Jeff Heintz, but ran out of laps and settled for 2nd. Another solid performance by the team!

_99-kammerud-celebration.jpgAfter a great performance with a 1st place finish in the heat race and a 3rd place finish in the feature on Thursday May 22nd at Cedar Lake Speedway.
The Kammerud Racing Team was hungry for more. Showing up at CLS on Saturday May 26th with a pretty good draw for there the first ever double feature night.

zcls-5-24-08-feature-night-430.jpgThe 99K started the first feature in the 10th spot and after a little contact with the 05 and 17 the 99K was able to finish in the 3rd spot. With this finish it gave the team the best passing points for the feature and started us on the poll. On lap one the 21X of Chris Peterson took the lead, but the 99k would take back the lead on lap two and never look back. Finding Victory Lane for the first time ever AT CLS.

cls-5-24-08-feature-night-010.jpg Thanks to Zimmy for the pictures. Also a special Thanks to the our Sponsors and Crew with their continued support hopefully we can find Victory Lane alot more this year.
